Your home should be more than just beautiful — it should feel like a place you love being in every day. Interior design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about comfort, function, and creating spaces that support your lifestyle.
Your home should be more than just beautiful — it should feel like a place you love being in every day. Interior design isn’t just about aesthetics; it’s about comfort, function, and creating spaces that support your lifestyle.
We thought we’d share some key takeaways we use throughout our design and decorating process that we believe play an important part to creating a home your truly love living in and coming home to, so here goes;
1. Think about how you live in your space.
Life evolves over seasons, from couple life, to a family with little ones, to teenagers to adults, meaning throughout these times your needs change, your home needs to change with you. Creating a home you truly love living in needs to be carefully curated to fit in with how you live in your space.

2. The role of comfort and warmth.
When creating a space think of bringing in elements that are comfortable allowing you to relax and unwind from a long day, also consider adding elements of warmth to your space, this provides a signal of safety to your brain. You can do this by using colour theory bringing in deeper tones be that with interior design finishes or decor.

3. Personal touches that elevate a space.
Creating a home you truly love can be as simple as adding in personal touches. A simple way could be placing your favourite image in a stunning frame on a side table or mantle paired with some of your favourite books, or floral display. A home should create emotions that make you feel good, adding some well thought out decor touches throughout your space will elevate your experience.
4. Create emotional connection through interiors.
A great way to do this is by considering how colours create connection. During the concept phase of my interior design and decorating process I always ask clients what colours make them feel happy, excited, joy, this is not by chance, this is to consider their selections when planning out their space. Its also as important to consider what colours make you feel sad, tired, and sometimes even angry because you want to avoid adding in these when creating timeless interiors.
This only touches the surface when it comes to creating a home that stands the test of time. Decorating evolves over the years but Designing a homes interior finishes with elements that evolve with it is a well thought out process and a skill not everyone embodies.
